RM Private Sales offer the ex-Juan Manuel Fangio 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, a car which was presented as a retirement gift to Fangio from Mercedes-Benz in 1958, and which is known to have been one of the driver’s favourite cars. The bond that Fangio had forged with Mercedes-Benz was such that the 300 SL Roadster was delivered in time for his 47th birthday, received at The Dorchester Hotel in London, marking his phenomenal achievements for the Stuttgart-based outfit in motorsport.

Exclusively offered from RM Sotheby’s Private Sales division, a beloved 300 SL from Fangio’s personal museum. Interested bidders will be able to participate in a rather sporting format. Fangio’s priceless 300 SL will be sold in a sealed bid auction from 28th February to 4th March. Clients are invited to offer an all-in price. There is no buyer’s premium for the lot, meaning it functions more like a private sale. The final sale price will not be made public.
